    Kusuma Trust Gibraltar offers discretionary awards to promote the study of medicine, technology, engineering and business related studies at the 'top ten' universities. In an addition to these one discretionary scholarship for exceptional candidates exists for the performing/fine arts and one for sports excellence. 2012 will see the introduction of one annual Kusuma Excellence scholarship for studies in Humanities and competition for this is expected to be very high.

     

     

    UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE IN UK AND US

    The KUSUMA EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP (Gibraltar) scheme seeks to inspire top students to aim to reach the top of their academic game. Kusuma hopes that its scholars will become “Ambassadors of Excellence” in Gibraltar and inspire their fellow students to aim higher and achieve more. Kusuma has pledged £1,000,000 to the project.

    Community Projects

    Kusuma aims to foster a culture of learning and innovation. It also seeks to support smaller partner organisations in building their fund raising capacity. In Gibraltar these include Women in Need, the Down’s Syndrome Support Group, Calpe House and a wide range of organisations aimed at bringing assistance and new opportunities to specific groups of people.

    Capital projects for Gibraltar

    Detailed discussions have been held with the Gibraltar Government authorities to identify projects that will be of benefit to the community and which work well with or enhance areas
    also identified as positive and in demand. One example already agreed is the Europa Point project where Kusuma is joining in partnership in the redevelopment of this rundown area with the provision of safe scenic walkways.

    VSO & GLOBAL XCHANGE

    In order to facilitate volunteering for Gibraltar individuals, Kusuma has teamed up with VSO the world leader in international volunteering with over 50 years of experience. Global Xchange is a joint partnership between VSO and The British Council, it is a six-month exchange programme that is committed in supporting communities from around the world by bringing young people together and giving them the opportunity to experience volunteering. During the programme they will develop new skills and perspectives, live and work with people from other cultures and gain some valuable experience in understanding community development and global issues.

    KUSUMA PROMOTES MATHS IN SCHOOLS 

    Kusuma is happy to announce that we have organised the Millennium Mathematics Project to  come to Gibraltar. The project which is active nationally in the UK and internationally will be delivered in schools by top mathematicians as part of an initiative to promote the enjoyment  of maths. We are sure that the students of Gibraltar will find all the workshops  very enjoyable. They will also be able to see a real WWII Code breaking Enigma machine

    KUSUMA TRUST SPORTS SCHOLAR VISIT WITH HER GB OLYMPIC TEAM 





    Local Gymnast  Georgina Cassar recipient of the Kusuma Trust Gibraltar sports scholarship, as pictured in the red Kusuma T-shirt returned to Gibraltar with her team mates to give an electrifying performance for the public at the Tercentenary Hall.  Georgina and her team mates are part of the Great Britain Rhythmic Team who are training to compete in the 2012 Olympic games. 


    CHARITY TRAINING FAIR

    Following the success of our taster session in May 2011   Kusuma Trust Gibraltar partnered with DSC to initiate and fund their first charity training fair. This training fair hopes to compliment our dedication to contribute towards helping charities become more efficient and bring in trainers where needed. With this in mind Kusuma Trust also provided a chance for charities to have free consultations with the trainers.

    SCIENCE MADE FUN 







    The British Science Museum return to the Rock to promote science in schools. This year the visit was even bigger with double the amount of shows and extending the opportunity to Secondary School students as well as middle school children.

    CHILDLINE GIBRALTAR

    Childline Gibraltar was set up in 2006 with the object of ending cruelty to children in Gibraltar from bullying to abuse. In summer 2010 Kusuma Gibraltar were delighted to agree a £10,000 donation for the coming year and to have helped enable Childline Gibraltar's restructure for a good future.
