To coincide with the careers fair the Kusuma Trust organised our biannual University Talks on Tuesday 24th February 2015.  It was a particularly informative session which saw year 12 students receive talks from representatives of Oxford University, Imperial College London and University College London on applying and studying at University. There was also a talk on volunteering and global issues by William Morgan from Action Aid.  This was a particularly inspiring talk that encouraged volunteering at home and abroad and to learn more on global issues. The talks are designed to encourage students to think about their university choices and courses and to be prepared when considering writing personal statements and going for interviews. Whilst aimed at students going on to University the talks are also very useful to those who are not continuing with their formal education or are considering other avenues.

The morning talks continued to the afternoon where the students were able to attend workshops on interview techniques and writing personal statements. The careers fair was extremely well attended and the representative of all universities and Action Aid were inundated with students discussing their future plans. It was a joy to see so many students take up the opportunity to ask questions about travelling, studying and working.
