The recently established Autism Support Group Gibraltar presented its first event on the 15th May promoting awareness of Autism in Gibraltar.
They launched their event with two speakers from the UK Tori and Debi from the Magazine Aukids and Breanne Black an Occupational Therapist.
Over 90 adults attended the conference which included healthcare and teaching professionals as well as those who have children effected by Autism.
The main motto of the conference was “Difference is not necessarily a disability” with many examples of people who have Autism but who have overcome the challenges associated with having Autism. The conference was a great mixture of inspiration and practical advice. The Kusuma Trust feel privileged to be part of such a well turned out and informative conference which can only go towards helping children and adults understand Autism better.
