At Our Cabaña they will meet with other members Girlguiding worldwide and take part in a week long program which involves a variety of projects such as community service in deprived areas like orphanages and elderly care centres.

In order to get themselves to Mexico City the Senior Section have held various fund-raising events including selling cupcakes at the Gibraltar fair and selling goods at the Convent Christmas Fair. They have also been fortunate enough to receive various donations from the public too.

“We are very happy to say that one of our main sponsors is the Kusuma trust “says Katrina Edmonds Busto, Senior Section Leader. “We approached them in the hope they will be able to help us financially and we were extremely grateful when they agreed.”

Their large donation is not only going towards travel costs but will also help to purchase various items which the Senior Section will take with them for their service projects such as personal hygiene products like toothbrushes and toothpaste’s, colouring pencils, crayons, colouring books and notebooks.

If any members of the public would like to further assist this worthy cause they can contact Katrina on: 5400 8030 where any donations are very welcome.
