Paul Perez, a recent graduate from The University for the Creative Arts, has been given the opportunity to showcase his original designs on the catwalk of Brighton Fashion Week in October after winning Runway Gibraltars new designer competition. He was one of five young designers chosen to exhibit work in the new designer competition as part of Runway Gibraltar, a fashion festival held each year, where international designers present their designs to the local audiences of Gibraltar. It also gives new designer an opportunity to show their work to professionals in the industry. Paul showcased his work in front of a professional panel and the public and won this years competition, where the prize gave the winner the opportunity to showcase their collection at Brighton Fashion Week. The Kusuma Trust has offered funding to Paul as part of our professional development scheme to help him fund the materials for his collection and enable him to travel to Brighton for the week. The collection is inspired by insects and nomadic tribes it includes metal and leatherwork accessories. We believe that Paul has a bright future and wish him every success at Brighton Fashion Week where he will be able to learn and mingle with some of the best talent in the business.
